Electrical/Mechanical Rides Engineer
A rare opportunity has occurred for a Rides Engineer to join our expanding engineering team. We have some exciting new projects happening and this is a great time to join the team.
The Rides Engineers are responsible for the daily maintenance and upkeep of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems on the rides here at Crealy Theme Park and Resort. This is a responsible role for a calm, safety conscious person who will assist in installing, repairing, testing and maintaining all electromechanical equipment of rides, animation, and attractions under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager.
Core responsibilities
· Working as part of a team to follow a daily scheduled maintenance and inspection programme, including any emergency repairs as required on mechanical and electrical assemblies, motors, pneumatic systems, and more.
· Conduct annual ride strip downs to facilitate inspection activities under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager to comply with the LEAPS inspection scheme.
· Responding to reactive maintenance needs during theme park opening hours.
· Maintaining accurate maintenance records and reports using our digital record keeping systems.
· Maintaining good workshop standards and stock control.
· To ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.
Qualifications & Experience
· Previous work in a theme park environment is not essential, engineering experience gathered on other electrical or mechanical systems will be suitable.
· Proven track record of maintaining/repairing machinery
· Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems of work.
· An ONC, NVQ or BTEC equivalent gained through an apprenticeship or college route in engineering is desirable.
· A full driving licence is required for this role
· The ability to read and use engineering drawings.
· The ability to utilise problem solving skills.
· A calm, safety conscious attitude.
· A willingness to learn and develop.
· Have experience of using technical manuals, risk assessments and related documentation.
You will be expected to work 42.5 hours, five days a week, including 1 in 3 weekends, with fixed days off in the week. Our peak times are bank holidays and school holiday periods. It is important to have a flexible approach to your working week. Our Main season runs from March to November, but we are open to guests/visitors all year.
