Crealy Theme Park & Resort is the South West’s largest family theme park attraction and is home to over 60 rides, attractions and live shows and zoo. Set in over 100 acres of countryside the business also consists of a large luxury lodge and camping resort that includes uniquely themed glamping accommodation.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated, effective leader with proven success overseeing an operational team. You will be managing a team of ride operators, ensuring the highest levels of health and safety standards and customer service are maintained at all times. Along with recruiting, training and providing on-going support to the team you will personally act as an ambassador for the Theme Park throughout the day, helping to create first-class experiences for our guests.

About The Role:

  • Ensure the safe operation of rides and attractions across the department in accordance with Health and Safety regulations including the development of Ride Operations training manuals and procedures
  • Direct budget responsibility for labour costs within the assigned area
  • Meet secondary spend and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) targets
  • Regularly assess and update emergency-readiness, including evacuation and crisis procedures for mechanical rides
  • Perform regular ride audits, ensuring documentation, presentation and operations are maintained to a high level
  • Recruit, train, develop and mentor a team of approx. 70 Ride Operators
  • Hands-on, front-line operational duties as required
  • Co-ordinate the dedicated team of car park attendants
  • Contribute to the smooth planning, preparation and operation of seasonal events and functions
  • Act as a Duty Manger when needed, overseeing and co-ordinating the smooth day-to-day running of the attraction
  • This role also offers varied support to the rest of the operational departments across the resort, including our Engineering/Maintenance, Cleaning, Admissions and Call Centre teams to ensure the Theme Park’s overall standards and service-delivery are of the highest calibre
  • Excellent attention to detail and superb leadership skills are essential for this role

  • Flexible to work varied hours (between 7.00am-11.00pm) throughout the year. This role also requires the successful candidate to work weekends, bank holidays and school holidays

Skills & Experiences:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in attraction management (or similar)
  • Knowledge and understanding of safety and risk management control systems including formulation of training and safety procedures
  • Extensive front-line customer service experience
  • An ability to drive sales across the department
  • Confident using computerised systems
  • Proficient in rostering a large team
  • Great organisational skills
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience of co-ordinating and supervising a large team
  • Qualified First Aider (desirable but not essential)
  • Full driving licence (desirable but not essential)

£25,000 -£28,000 per annum  dependent on experience, plus 30 days annual leave
