About the Role

The Entertainments and Events Team Leader will oversee and participate in the day to day running of team operations.  You will work with and motivate Entertainment team members to achieve targets as set by the Entertainments and Events manager.

Working as part of a team of six you will assist with delivering the park’s daily entertainment and events programme. You will be required to rehearse and perform in our programme of daily live shows, meet & greet activities, character events and park mascot appearances,  in the 4 performance areas across the park. You will also be hosting the evening entertainment programme for our resort holiday guests.

You will play an active role in ensuring that the product delivered to our guests is at the best possible standard and encourage regular rehearsals and ensure that training takes place on a regular basis to ensure a fantastic delivery of shows, events and attractions.  Your duty, as show and character captain, will run throughout the season to promote this.

No day is the same, you could be performing in character costume or presenting a show on stage or in an arena or you may even be broadcasting live on our Crealy Radio Station.  You would be required to work with the rest of the team to create engaging products and learn choreography, scripts and direction.  You may also run an activity session as part of the Crealy Active programme and successfully interact with guests of the resort throughout the peak holiday season.

During low season you will be expected to assist in the preparation for events, with our Projects PA and this may include overseeing important aspects to ensure that the park looks suitable to be opened for the relevant holiday events (Halloween & Christmas).  You would be expected to drive company vehicles around the theme park delivering and putting up decorations, taking down and dressing venues as well as using creative input to achieve the highest standard for our guests.

The initial contract period is for February Half Term  14th February - 22nd February 2020 and then the full season contract dates are 23rd March 2020 - 24th December 2020

A full driving licence is required for this position

About You

You will be happy to get stuck into all elements of the Entertainments Department and perform with enthusiasm and energy at all times.  You will have had previous holiday park entertainment or similar performing experience.

Ideally you will have also had previous experience as a performer working with tracks and characters and some dance experience is preferred but not necessary.  

You will have experience in supporting and leading a team to encourage them to achieve goals.  You will be expected to support the Entertainments and Events Manager with the operation of the department.

You will be flexible, friendly and approachable with  a 'can do', team player attitude and have a great eye for detail and strive to provide excellent guest experiences. Ideally you will have a basic to good understanding of small sound and light systems.  You must be available to work in all of the peak periods and to be able to work bank holidays, evenings and weekends, as required
