HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO WORK AT CREALY?

Age requirements vary depending on the work that you do. We do not employ people younger than fifteen years of age. However, if you would like to know more about

 

CAN I WORK AT CREALY AS A VOLUNTEER?

CAN I UNDERTAKE MY WORK EXPERIENCE AT CREALY?

Yes you can. We have a comprehensive programme designed with you in mind and to help you understand what working at Crealy is really like. All candidates will be offered an interview providing they have the relevant skills and attributes required.  Our Animal Realm run a separate Work Experience programme and should you be interested inn this department please contact Ali Ofield either e-mail KLewis@crealy.co.uk or call 01395 233200 ext 218.  Please note that we do not normally accept applicants/placements who are already employed by us because we believe it is important for young people to experience other work cultures. We treat work experience as recruitment opportunities and will keep all records pertaining to your time with us and suitable people may be offered employment. WHAT DO I HAVE TO WEAR?

We will provide you with a uniform, usually consisting of a polo shirt, sweatshirt and cap. Although this may differ slightly depending on which department you work for. You will need to ensure that you wear black trousers or skirt and black shoes. Jeans and trainers are not acceptable. 

HOW MUCH WILL I BE PAID?

How much you are paid depends on your age and the job that you are employed to do. To make it simple, we use a grade system based on the National Minimum wage structure set by the government. When you begin work you will usually start on Grade 1 and you can then work your way up the grades. There are also some target related bonuses. We offer a Loyalty Bonus to everybody who works until the end of their contract, where no lateness or other employment issues have arisen. 

 HOW OFTEN DO I GET PAID?

At Crealy, we pay one week in arrears, directly into a valid Bank Account. You will need to make sure that you have a valid Bank Account number for us when you start work and National Insurance number (if you have one), as we will start to pay you straight away.

 

HOW OFTEN CAN I WORK?

This depends entirely on you, your age and on what vacancies we have when you apply. However, we do ask that everybody work either alternate weekends or one day every weekend.

 

DO YOU PROVIDE ACCOMMODATION AT CREALY?

Unfortunately, at this time we do not have any general staff accommodation at Crealy Great Adventure Parks, however some limited accommodation is available to our entertainments team.

 

WHAT ABOUT FOOD?

Crealy provides a value for money lunch to all employees and volunteers at a very subsidised rate.  This is served in the Staff canteen area.  Alternatively staff can purchase food at a discounted rate from the Catering outlets.

 

HOW DO I GET TO WORK?

There are regular buses between Exeter and Sidmouth and during the season these run approximately every half an hour. You can purchase certain concessionary tickets, which reduce the cost a little.  Dartline also have a bus service, which with your Crealy ID card you will receive free travel. 

Alternatively, there is free parking at Crealy. If you are driving yourself to work, please remember to respect our guests and drive safely and slowly whilst on park.

 

WILL I RECEIVE TRAINING?

Yes, there is a comprehensive programme of training at Crealy, Starting with a Park induction and Spread the Crealy Magic training, followed by a Departmental induction. Obviously, it depends on what job you are employed to do that determines the amount and frequency of the training you will receive after this.

 

ARE THERE ANY SOCIAL EVENTS THAT I CAN ATTEND?

Yes, we hold regular social events throughout the year. They always prove very popular and are an opportunity for our teams to meet and to get to know each other, including an End of Season Awards. You and your family are invited to join our fun members evenings throughout the year.
