Morgawr roller coaster opens at Cornwall's Crealy
The summer season at Cornwall’s Crealy is set to be a ‘roaring’ success with the opening of a major new attraction at the theme park this May.
Morgawr, the park’s first rollercoaster opens on 30th May. Meaning ‘Sea Giant’ in Cornish, Morgawr is named after the legendary sea monster of Falmouth Bay.
David Wright, one of the family owners of Cornwall’s Crealy Great Adventure Park said, “2010 is our most exciting year yet! We are very excited about launching our first roller coaster at Cornwall’s Crealy. Morgawr is perfect for Cornwall’s Crealy and our visitors will love riding it – along with finding out about the legendary story behind it’s name.”
Morgawr is the fifth large ride attraction at Cornwall’s Crealy, joining the county’s only double drop log flume, water coaster, pirate ship and the famous Beast, drop tower ride.
David Wright continues, “We have invested £1.6million in new attractions at our theme parks in Devon and Cornwall this year and are confident that this season will be a great success for both day visitors and our guests staying at our 5 star holiday homes, which are already almost fully booked for this year.”
Cornwall’s Crealy has also invested in a toddler zone within the indoor play area, Dragon’s Kingdom.
The theme park attracts over 140,000 visitors a year and plans to offer more high quality accommodation, in addition to the traditional farmhouses already popular all year round.
