It is simple:

Children play on an old fashioned roundabout which pumps water from a borehole to a storage tank, from which the clean water can be pumped when required. Over 800 PlayPumps have so far been installed in Africa, each one providing safe, clean water for 2,500 people. These are revolutionary results for such a simple concept.

We have installed models of the Roundabout PlayPump in Crealy Great Adventure Parks, in both Devon and Cornwall, in the South West of England. So far, our guests and Parks have installed two more Roundabout PlayPumps in Mozambique.

PlayPumps International is a not-for-profit organisation endorsed by the International Institute for Peace through Tourism, IAAPA, The Clinton Foundation, First Lady Laura Bush and rap artist Jay-Zee.
