At Crealy we have many small pets for sale, including rabbits, guinea pigs and rats!
Having a pet of your own is an important decision, which needs careful consideration and a commitment to care for its wellbeing. Animal Realm Wranglers will take time to advise and assist you with your choice of pet, whether it is a rabbit, guinea pig, pony or even a goat.
We take our responsibilities towards all of our animals very seriously. To ensure that our animals are given the best care and attention and the right home, we ensure that the following procedure is carried out:
Our Team of Animal Wranglers are carefully selected for their love of animals, knowledge, care and attention to detail.
Our Team of Animal Wranglers are supported by seasonal staff and volunteers who receive ongoing training.
The welfare and good husbandry of our animals is key to our Animal Team.
Our friendly Animal Realm Team are on hand to provide advice with all animals and any welfare accessories that are sold.
Our Animal Realm Team provides constant care and attention to all of the animals at Crealy.
Animals are sold only to approved owners who can offer suitable homes.
No animal is sold to anyone under the age of 16.
A care sheet is provided for all animals sold.
Crealy Great Adventure Parks holds a licence under the Pet Animals Act 1951 - which means that we can legally sell pets to the right home.
When animals are sold we provide some of their favourite food for the first days in their new home, to minimise stress.
To purchase a goat, sheep or calf, prospective owners need to contact DEFRA and provide a holding number.
All livestock for sale are readily accessible, easy to inspect and are sold with a clean bill of health.
Crealy is regularly visited by a Vet.
Should any of the animals need extra care and treatment, it is provided without delay.
All of the animals are kept in accommodation suitable with respect to size, temperature, lighting, ventilation and cleanliness.
As our animals are given so much attention, they are very familiar with people and at home with guests around them.
Each animal is known personally by the Animal Wrangler team and if due to give birth, for example, a decision is taken whether to leave as usual, whether to provide screening or whether to move to our isolation stables. Many of our animals were born here and are completely at ease surrounded by the public
Rats are clean, intelligent and affectionate animals that bond to their human companions in much the same way that dogs do. They make playful, sensitive pets that can be taught to come by name and learn a variety of tricks. While rats are extremely rewarding pets, if you cannot guarantee to give your rats at least an hour of quality time every day, then perhaps a lower maintenance pet would be more suitable.
Baby rats: £8.00 each
Chipmunks are rewarding pets andare very easy and cheap to keep. They will eat almost anything from peanuts and sunflower seeds to bananas and bugs that crawl into their cage. These animals like a variety of food and activities, although they hide far more food underneath their bedding than they ever eat!
Chipmunks: £30.00 each
Keeping chickens is a real pleasure – sitting and watching them is very enjoyable. Not only providing entertainment, hens give the added bonus of providing eggs for the family and friends! As with all pets however, you will need to make sure that your birds are cared for correctly in order to keep them healthy, and maintain good egg production.
Hens from £9.50
Chicks from £4.50
Keeping ducklings is a real pleasure – sitting and watching them is very enjoyable. Not only providing entertainment, ducks give the added bonus of providing eggs for the family and friends! As with all pets however, you will need to make sure that your birds are cared for correctly in order to keep them healthy, and maintain good egg production. We sell the following breads; Mallards, Runner Ducks, Khaki Campbells and Aylesbury.
Ducklings from £6.00
Guinea pigs can be kept outside or indoors and the decision as to where they will be kept will affect the type of cage or hutch required. As with any pet, keeping a guinea pig requires a commitment to care for it during its entire life, which could be 4 – 7 years or longer. This includes not only routine feeding, care and time spent with the animal but also the provision of veterinary treatment if the guinea pig becomes ill.
Guinea Pigs: £17.50 each £30.00 for two
Rabbits are very affectionate and their playful and trainable nature means they also enjoy human companionship, even though most prefer to sit beside their owner rather than being handled. Rabbits are sociable and should be provided with company, especially if the owner is away during the day or the rabbit is to be kept outside.
In general goats make excellent pets. They are simple to feed and house, they respond well to human company, are easily handled and get on well with other animals. Groups of goats tend to have a very strong social hierarchy, so you will probably have to work around this and may need to feed a group of goats individually to ensure the dominant animal does not get all the feed.
Sheep can be cheeky, affectionate, playful and ready to form a lasting a bond with their owner. Sheep are often good with children and if used to close human contact since birth they will enjoy a pat, scratch or hug. Most breeds of sheep are hardy and can over winter live outdoors without any trouble. Given enough grazing, they will not need any extra winter feed, making them relatively low maintenance, though of course sheep do need to be sheared.
Sheep: £50.00
Horses and ponies can provide companionship, loyalty and pleasure for many owners but they also need a lot of time, energy, love and money to ensure that they are happy and healthy. Horses are naturally grazing animals that live in a herd, so access to other horses for company and play is important.
Horses and ponies from £200.00
