Maximus The Rollercoaster is Open!

Yesss! The new Maximus Rollercoaster is open and it's Maximus fun! It was opened by an Exeter Roman, Claudis Maximus - check him out in the picture above with the Crealy Creators - super cool!

As well as the new Roman theming the Rollercoaster now has a tunnel over the big drop, making it feel super scary and faster, are you brave enough to enter the tunnel without screaming? The Crealy Creators weren't!

Speaking of the Crealy Creators, has anyone seen their picture in the Express and Echo? They have become our resident celebrities!

They will not have much time for their new found fame though, as Liam, Crealy's Hospitality Manager has a yummy job planned for them, for their next meeting on Saturday 6th March. Be sure to keep checking the blog to find out what the yummy job is - here's a hint, it's going to be Crealy delicious!

Maximus Opens this Saturday!

Devon's Favourite Rollercoaster is Back! Maximus the Rollercoaster opens this coming Saturday 13th Feb - be one of the first to ride it!

Visit all Feb Half Term for just 6.95 per person and because there is so much FUN and so much to do, that you can come back FREE for a whole week in our Fests! Just wear your returns wristband which will be affixed by a Crealy Ranger on your first visit.

Crealy Creators take on Maximus!

The Crealy Creators began their meeting on Saturday by viewing the plans for the all new Maximus Coaster that opens for Easter 2010! Maximus, is the transformed famous Crealy coaster that takes a high-speed trip 2000 years back in time to when Romans ruled the Kingdom of Dumnonii and in particular Isca, as Exeter was known then.

The Creators came up with some exciting ideas for the grand opening of the ride next year including; Roman food being served to guests, the opportunity for children to make their very own Roman shields and Crealy Rangers telling Roman jokes all day!

They also thought it would be great for the ride to be themed with Roman facts and pictures in the queue lines and the Crealy Rangers dressed as Romans when operating the ride!

In the second half of the meeting the Creators observed some of our Crealy Rangers at work using observational checklists; paying extra attention to each Ranger's presentation, guest delight and their work station. The above picture is of the Crealy Creators with their observational sheets.

Below are some of the comments the Creators made about the Rangers:
"Leanne from Retail was very talkative and helpful"
"Kerry from Animal Farm was the best Ranger in Park and was very smiley!"

Each observational checklist was then handed to Mandy Crealy's HR Manager so she could pass the coments onto the Rangers.

The next Crealy Creator meeting is on Saturday 9th January 2010 at 11am at Devon's Crealy.

Ride in the Wilderness!

Today was the first official meeting with the new Crealy Creators for the 2009 / 2010 year - with a packed agenda the Creators were put straight to work by helping the Crealy Management team plan the new attractions for next year!

The Crealy Creators were treated to an exclusive preview of one of the new attractions 'The Wilderness', by trying out the four seated family Adventurebikz that will be used to explore the new trail.

The Wilderness, an adventure trail amongst the wild deer of White Deer Meadow is due to open in Easter of next year!

The Creators met with Simon, Crealy's Maintenance Manager to try out the new Adventurbikz. Each Creator took turns with the pedaling and stirring! The Creators gave Simon some great feedback, most important of all, it was decided that the current Adventurebikz are to small for people sitting in the front seats, so larger Adventurbikz will need to be brought in before we can open the new attraction. We'll be sure to get the Creators' approval of them first!

At next month's meeting on Saturday 5th December the Creators will be looking at the plans for the all new Loco Romano and previewing the Christmas Grotto before it opens to the public!

Captain Jack Sparrow opens Pirate's Revenge!

What an exciting half term we have had a Devon's Crealy! Bank Holiday Monday saw the opening of the new outdoor attraction Pirate's Revenge by the famous pirate Captain Jack Sparrow. Pirate's Revenge is an outdoor multi-level adventure zone with high-level walkways, climbing nets, tubes and slides designed for all you adventurous buchaneers!

Captain Jack Sparrow was joined by Crealy's Pirate Crew from the theatre's Pirate Show to open the new attraction; the Pirate show takes place daily in the theatre with chocolate treasure given away to all! Pictured above are the Bryant family who won a competition to meet Captain Jack Sparrow.

Crealy Creator William has been attending the all NEW Crealy Kids Adventure Club this half term, taking part in all the fun and adventures; including mask making, pony rides, treasure hunts and much, much more! Crealy is the only place to offer a safe holiday club with adventure park size fun! Bookings are now being taken for the summer holidays.

The next Crealy Creator meeting takes place on Sunday 14th June at Devon's Crealy at 11am

Maximum Fun at Cornwall's Crealy!

April's meeting was held at Cornwall's Crealy for the opening of the 2009 season! The Creators' were treated to an exclusive tour of the Park's brand new Crealy Gift Shop, which is far bigger than the old Gift Shop, meaning more room for Crealy goodies! The Creators' all liked the layout of the shop and felt it had a lot of space for people to have a good look around.

After the tour of the Gift Shop it was time for the Creators' to ride; The Beast, The Viking Pirate Ship and The Ragging Rivers! The Creators' thought the Rangers operating the rides should be in costumers to match the theming of the rides; Marlin really wanted to see a Viking operating the Pirate Ship!

The meeting was finished off with a tour of the sables to meet the Shire Horses that live at Cornwall's Crealy. The Creators' had great fun meeting some of Crealy's largest residents!

The next Crealy Creators' meeting is on Sunday 10th May, 11am at Cornwall's Crealy.

Baby Goats and Party Rooms!

With the new season fast approaching the Crealy Creators' have been helping with the final changes and developments to ensure even more fun for 2009! Liam, the Hospitality Manager here at Crealy asked for their advise on possibly changing one of the Magical Kingdom party rooms, to have a more grown feel for older children. The Crealy Creators' decided that the 'Wildlife' themed party room should be changed, some suggestions included painting the room white and having birthday banners around the room or theming it with 'Adventure Sport' pictures.

The Creators' then visited the Crealy Gift Shop to tell Steve, the Gift Shop Manager and his staff what they thought was missing from the Shop. Rebecca suggested selling magazines, national newspapers and puzzle books in the shop for parents and grandparents to buy while children are playing in the Park. Other suggestions included selling large family umbrellas, Sponge Bob Square Pants and The Simpson's merchandise, packet sweets as well as pick a mix sweets and Crealy posters and pictures. Martha suggested the pictures should be of Crealy and Honey Bear and Dina the Dinosaur.

The meeting was finished off today by visiting the baby Goatkids in the Animal Barn. In the last week 12 Goatkids have been born. The Creators' had great fun meeting them, pictured about is Harley with one of the Goatkids and its Mum, Elizabeth.

The next Crealy Creators' meeting is on Sunday 5th April, 11am at Cornwall's Crealy.

Parachute Games, Uni Hock & Yummy Food Tasting!

What an exciting meeting! Parachute games, uni hock and yummy food tasting! Today's meeting was run by Emily and Shelley, the play leaders from the new Crealy Kids Adventure Club - a unique holiday club, with safe adventures, exciting activities and great food!

Parachute games and uni hock (indoor hockey) are just two of the many activities that are planned through out the Adventure Club. Both games were given the big thumbs up by the Creators! The winning team of uni hock are pictured above with their captain Harley, after winning the penalty shoot out.

The Creators were treated to an exclusive tour of the new 'Go Wild' attraction - a canopy adventure above the dinosaurs in Dina's Lost World, which opens at the start of the season. All very exciting!

After all that play and excitement today's meeting was finished off by tasting the Crealy Bear party menu. The bacon baps and ice-cream Sunday's were a huge hit and liked by everyone! Sadly the same couldn't be said for the cheese sandwiches, the Creators found that the cheese was cut to thick, making the sandwiches to 'cheesy'. They also suggested that the party picnic boxes could be more exciting and colourful.

The next Crealy Creators' meeting is on Sunday 8th March, 11am at Devon's Crealy.

New for 2009 is the Crealy Adventure Kids Club. It's the coolest way to spend the school holidays, combining safety, learning, great food and of course, theme-park size fun!

Starting this February half term from 8am until 6pm every week day children aged 8+ can enjoy a wide range of exciting activities including animal handling, theatre workshops, parachute games and camp crafts, plus two delicious meals and snacks!

Fun, Fun, Fun!

What an exciting meeting we had today! Lots of things to talk about including: The EasterFest celebrations, new ideas and suggestions to make the Adventure Zone play area even better and some yummy food to taste.

The Crealy Creators have come up with some exciting new ideas for the Adventure Zone, some suggestions included adding a giant snakes and ladders game, an even bigger drop slide and a human hamster ball!

Although Christmas has only just happened the next big event to take place at Crealy is our famous Easter M'Egge Hide 'n' Seek where 30,000 Easter eggs are given away each year! The Crealy Creators have suggested that it might be fun to have the Easter Bunny here at the Park and hold some Easter themed competitions.

Our meeting was finished off by tasting some yummy healthy food in the Crealy Bear Cafe. The biggest hits were hot pasta and ham sandwiches served with a side salad - all very tasty! The Crealy Creators are helping Liam, Crealy's Hospitality Manager decide what food to serve at Crealy's Adventure Camp which will be taking place in school holidays.

The next Crealy Creator meeting will be on Sunday 8th February '09 at 11am at Devon's Crealy.

Well what a busy meeting we had on Sunday 14th December, lots of exciting things to talk about including the NEW Crealy Adventure Club, the exciting NEW plans for the Adventure Zone and all finished of with an exclusive tour of The Winter Wonderland!

The Crealy Creators have decided on a number of activities to be included in the NEW Crealy Adventure Club (a summer school day camp for children 7+) including: Arts and Crafts, Pony Rides, Dance and Parachute Games! At the next Crealy Creators' meeting on Sunday 4th January '09 they are going to be deciding on what food they think should be served at the camp.

To finish the meeting off the Crealy Creators were taken on an exclusive tour of The Winter Wonderland before Father Christmas arrived. Father Christmas will be in his Grotto until Tuesday 23rd December along with his real life Nativity animals and his sacks full of presents!

The next Crealy Creators' meeting will be on Sunday 4th January at 11am at Devon's Crealy.

The next Crealy Creators meeting is on Sunday 14th December at Devon's Crealy, 11am-12 noon. The Agenda includes a preview of the Magical Days of Christmas and a visit to Father Christmas' Grotto plus sampling the Festive Platters served over the Christmas holidays - yum! Creators will also be advising on the 2009 Go WILD! attraction and reviewing progress on the 2009 communications campaign.

How exciting! The new Crealy Creators for the 2008/2009 season attended their first meeting yesterday at Cornwall's Crealy, although the weather was a little wet everyone still had a great time!

The 20 fresh faced Crealy Creators will be meeting one Sunday every month at either Devon's Crealy or Cornwall's Crealy. They have the tough job ahead of them of trying out all our rides, tasting our yummy food and most important of all, helping us decide the new attractions to make Crealy even better!

The next Crealy Creator meeting is on Sunday 9th November at Devon's Crealy.

At our last Creators' Board meeting we decided we should ask Dora the Explorer to come again in 2009 - and she has confirmed that she will be here on Good Friday next year! Yipee!

One of the Crealy ponies called Gilly went show-jumping with Crealy Creator Amy today and won a 5th on her first time out.

Two other new ponies have arrived to join the pony rides stable too - Flora who is a beautiful black mare with a white star and a palomino pony who is a former steeple-chaser!

Our Meeting Today!

So...today we met at 11am and there were 12 of us. We went through the minutes of our last meeting and decided it was all correct. We then talked about who was going to apply to become a Crealy Creator again next year and most of us said yes! We will be having some new people join the Board next month as well and we are all excited about this too.

We talked about what events we could run at Crealy to add value to the guests days out and we had some awesome ideas!

We then chatted about which Characters we would like to see at the Park next year. We thought of 21 in total (some for older children and some for younger) and then each of us marked each character out of 10 for how much we liked them and thought that people would enjoy seeing them if they came to Crealy.

KEEP WATCHING OUR EVENTS PAGES TO SEE WHO WILL BE INVITED TO CREALY NEXT YEAR...!

We then did something very very very important...we had to go and check that the El Pastil Roller Coaster was still as fun as it always has been...and do you know what....IT WAS MAXIMUM FUN OF COURSE!

We are all looking forward to our next meeting in Cornwall's Crealy on Saturday 04 October when we will be discussing what ideas we have for celebrating Crealy's 20th Birthday next year...

What a Fun-tastic meeting we had this week!

15 Crealy Creators hit Crealy en mass and my oh my did we have Maximum Fun!

So first off we congratulated Tom on his grrrrrrrrrrrreat work as the Chair of the Board of Directors and then Caitlin was elected Chair for the next two meetings by everyone doing a secret ballot.

We then went up to the Adventure Zone to check out how fun the slides were! We rode each slide and came up with some great positives words and also some fantastic recommendations too.

After riding the Meteorite, we made our way down to the LOG FLUME.....finally!

It took 3 goes for some people to come up with the funniest faces we could imagine and everyone went back to their parents soaking wet and full of smiles! (watch out for the pitcures being posted soon- some of them are truely scary!!)

Well done guys for a fab meeting full of Maximum Fun !

Looking forward to next meeting on the 12 July down in Cornwall's Crealy...

Good afternoon lovely Creators!

I hope you are looking forward to the meeting tomorrow as much as I am...????!!

So, as promised at last meeting...we are going on the THE BEST LOG FLUME IN THE SOUTH WEST...just to make sure it is still full of MAXIMUM FUN of course...! Plus, we have some serious business to get down to - like electing a new Chair person for the Creator's Board of Directors and Tom handing over his title and badge to the new Chair :0)

So, see you all at 11am in the Berries and Beans Juice Bar at Devon's Crealy Great Adventure Park with your extra clothes because you are going to get soaking wet!

We had a FANTASTIC time at this months Crealy Creators Meeting back in Devon's Crealy Great Adventure Park!

Tom was our Chairperson for this meeting and also our next meeting. He will then pass his Chair to a new Creator to take on the role for the next two meetings. Tom is doing a Crealy Great job so far!

So...the first thing we decided to do this meeting was venture down to the Magical Kingdom to check out the Party Rooms and thought that the were GREAT!

We then dared to enter the lair of the bears in Battle of the Bears. We haven't been there as part of our meeting since we opened it back in March and we wanted to check it was as fun as it was then...and it wasn't just fun...it was MAXIMUM FUN!

And finally, we went into the Crealy Bear Cafe to check out the newest edition to the Cafe- the Crealy Bear Party Table! We had a lovely time sat at the special table and we even tried some of the food on sale in the Cafe. We would highly recommend the waffles with chocolate sauce and the ice cream sundaes- they were really yummy! We had a great meeting and are really looking forward to the next one as we are DEFINATELY going on the LOG FLUME!

We had a great Crealy Creators meeting at Cornwall's Crealy recently and everyone from the Devon Creators got to try out the rides at the Park!

We discussed the birthday parties and went to Dragon's Kingdom to check out the FAB party tables. Everyone found it interesting to compare the similiarities and diffences between Devon's Crealy and Cornwall's Crealy!

We also discussed the different possible shapes that the maze could be for the Summer Sunflower Mazes in both Devon and Cornwall.

We also had a very productive meeting with the Creators electing a Chair! Tom was fairly elected through firstly volunteering to be elected alongside Jordan and then each person secretly writing a name on a piece of paper and then Tom was revealed as the person with the most names.

We ended our exciting visit to Cornwall's Crealy with two, yes two rides on THE BEAST and then lots of goes on the brill and exciting and wet Raging Rivers ride!

Crealy Creators open Battle of the Bears!!

Hi Crealy Creators!

Thank you all for coming along to Devon's Crealy on Saturday where you did a fantastic job of opening our brand new attraction, Battle of the Bears! I am sure you all had lots of fun shooting and dodging the 'molten-lava' balls in the darkened Cave of the Bears - I know I had an excellent time! :-)

We will have lots more to cover at the next meeting which is being held in Cornwall. I will keep you updated with all the details over the next couple of weeks.

Thanks again for making my first meeting with the Crealy Creators very enjoyable! Get your thinking caps on ready for next month where I will look forward to hearing all of your great ideas for Crealy Great Adventure Parks!
