Happy February!
Hi - and a Happy February to you. February has to be one of my favourite months - usually the driest period in the winter season and when we're always really busy preparing for the season ahead. This year is no exception, with four great features underway at Devon's Crealy ... the new Meteorite ride is in construction as we speak, due to open in Dina's Lost World on Good Friday. This is bound to become of of the favourite family rides at Crealy and we're all excited by the thought of riding next month! In the meantime, you'll have seen a hive of activity around Sir Walt's Restaurant ... well, Sir Walt would approve of change - being an adventurous explorer himself - as we transform the building into our most interactive adventure yet! The Battle of the Bears - alongside Crealy Bear Cafe - opens on the first day of our summer season, Saturday 15th March. Not long to wait now! And you can see that we're busy transforming the Tidal Wave too - faster, wetter, deeper, with a terrifying tunnel!
Cornwall's Crealy is undergoing huge amounts of work too - and there's a hint of mystery ... as legend prowls and on the wind we hear strange howls...come and find out on opening day, Saturday 15th March...As we prepare for that big event, everyone is busy, whether it's decorating, building or learning new skills...even Jonty the Shire yearling has learnt to play football! He'll be unveiling his skills during the daily Heavy Horse Show - we hope! More of a NAG than a WAG (sorry :))
It was great to be out on the Park at Devon's Crealy today, enjoying our early spring sunshine. Speaking with lots of happy guests - meeting new Members too. And two highlights of today? Well, first meeting some great new staff at our Recruitment Fair. And secondly, seeing twin kids born - one of four pairs so far this month to our patient African Pygmy Goat Nannies. All doing fine and already at home with our visitors. Well done Ali in the Animal Farm this week - our very own "Second Mum" to hundreds of babies.
Look forward to seeing you in the Parks soon.
